The United Armed Forces was founded in December of 2001 by Doc Holiday, known then as wolfcry044.
After his leaving from FPL, which consisted of a family of Federation Republic members, he went off on his own to build an anti-spy and anti-hacking organization. A dream he had since he started clanning in Federation Republic 2 days.
Upon making this organization, FPL disbanded, leaving many members clanless. Doc Holiday then turned his organization into a fleet, accepting the old FR members into their new home- the United Armed Forces. Which is why today, UAF holds more ex-FR members than any existing clan.
These members, being close as they were with themselves, and Doc Holiday, created a family like atmosphere which grew and grew as the fleet got older. Today, it is known as the closest group of clanners around for that very reason.
United Armed Forces started out shaky, and rocky. Doc was learning how to lead his first clan, and the members went through an adjustment period. Those times were hard, but brought the members closer together than ever before.
The fleet went through military system, to democratic system, to military system many times, before realizing UAF did not fit in either category. And so, both systems were incorporated.
Doc realized early on, that a star trek fleet in a dying star trek gaming world would mean death to the clan. Even before many people in the community started realizing it was going downhill, he began realizing how the gamers in GSA under star trek games were getting fewer and fewer. So to save his clan, he made the order to open UAF to all games.
Supporting all games at first was very stressful. It brought more confusion on the members than anything in the beginning. It left members spread out thin in each game. It was to be expected. It was either worry about the future of UAF, or the present.
UAF did not lose the trait it was born with. The will to fight for what was right, against hackers and spies intent on destroying clans from the inside.
A community was born called Renegades. Who openly stated of their intentions to spy. UAF quickly declared war on them. RNGD at the time was much bigger than UAF. However, the members were toughened up by a hard and cruel clanning past; they stood up to RNGD, and gave no ground.
The war lasted a little over a year, and UAF stood strong in its place. Defying RNGD's words in the beginning "your clan will not last two weeks in a war with us."
A year later, United Armed Forces declared RNGD as nothing more than a band of rejects trying to look cool, but failing miserably. That day, UAF announced that RNGD was no longer considered a clan to them, and did not deserve a red alert status. We went to Green alert for the first time in a year. It was a first Green alert for most of UAF.
In June of 2003, UAF became one fleet in three who founded the Coalition. [a band of fleets against spying/hacking, and who wish this community to be a better place. It grew quickly, hosted by UAF at first, then XFS. Until one day a new site and boards were being made, the site went down, and did not come back up. Months later, UAF recreated it, and gathered together the 3 Founders, [UAF]Doc holiday [ENF]Guardian, and [XFS]TheDoc. The coalition is again up, and growing once again. At this time, we [UAF] are alive and growing. We have many plans for the future, and plan on staying alive and well in this community for many many years. We don't give up, we don't surrender, and we don’t disband!
UAF supported various different games, until finally settling down into the Battlefield 2142 community. We now support Battlefield 2142, Bad Company 2, and EVE Online. We will likely support more games in the future. The United Armed Forces Battlefield 2142 Division was first started in December of 2006, six years after UAF was created. In April 2009, we added our Project Entropia Division, and in February 2010 we added the Bad Company 2 Division. Eve online was added in January 2011.
